"A revision of the genus Dahira (Moore, 1888) is proposed. Three new species from India, Arunachal Pradesh are described: Dahira melichari Haxaire sp. nov., Dahira soniae Haxaire & Melichar sp. nov., and Dahira haxairei Melichar sp. nov. In addition, Dahira obliquifascia siamensis Melichar & Haxaire ssp. nov. is described from southeast Asia, and Dahira yunnanfuana indicus Melichar & Haxaire ssp. nov. is described from Arunachal Pradesh. The genus Micracosmeryx Mell, 1922 placed into synonymy with Dahira and its type species, Micracosmeryx macroglossoides Mell, 1922, combined into that genus. Dahira farintaenia (Zhu & Wang 1997), previously placed in the genus Hayesiana Fletcher, 1982, is also transferred to Dahira. Dahira orlovi Zolotuhin & Ryabov, 2012 stat. nov. is raised to species status from a subspecies of Dahira pinratanai (Cadiou, 1991). Dahira obliquifascia baibarana (Matsumura, 1927) stat. rev., Dahira obliquifascia huangshana (Meng, 1982) stat. nov., Dahira rubiginosa fukienensis (Meng, 1989) stat. nov. and Dahira yunnanfuana montivaga Kernbach, 1966 stat. nov. are all reinstated from synonymy as subspecies of their respective species. Dahira plutenkoi (Brechlin, 2002) syn. nov. is placed into synonymy with Dahira kitchingi (Brechlin, 2000). The adults and male genitalia of all known species are illustrated."

Conclusions are mostly based on large numbers of morphological observations, together with the results of DNA barcode analysis. We propose the following changes in the taxonomy of the group: Polyptychus trilineatus costalis Mell, 1922 syn. nov., Polyptychus trilineatus mincopicus Jordan, 1930 syn. nov., and Polyptychus trilineatus kelanus Jordan, 1930 syn. nov., are considered as synonyms of Polyptychus trilineatus. The following taxa, previously treated as subspecies of Polyptychus trilineatus, are accorded species status: Polyptychus luteatus Rothschild and Jordan, 1903 stat. nov., Polyptychus sonantis Jordan, 1930 stat. rev., Polyptychus celebensis Clark, 1929 stat. nov., Polyptychus philippinensis Rothschild and Jordan, 1903 stat. nov. and Polyptychus javanicus Gehlen, 1931 stat. nov. Consequently, there are now no subspecies recognized in Polyptychus trilineatus.
The four subspecies of Polyptychus chinensis Rothschild & Jordan, 1903 are discussed. Based on both morphological observations and the results of DNA barcode analysis, Polyptychus chinensis draconis Rothschild & Jordan 1916 syn. nov., Polyptychus chinensis draconoides Mell, 1935 syn. nov. and Polyptychus chinensis shaanxiensis Brechlin, 2008 syn. nov. are placed in synonymy with P. chinensis."
