"The Temnora pylas (Cramer, 1779) species group is reviewed. Previously known taxa are reassessed and three new taxa are described based on genetic and morphological differences. A new species, Temnora arida sp. nov. from Ethiopia and Yemen, and two new subspecies, Temnora pseudopylas fuscolimbata ssp. nov. from Angola and Temnora pylades morotoensis ssp. nov. from Mount Moroto in Uganda, are described and figured. Temnora exilis stat. nov. and Temnora leptis stat. rev. are respectively raised to and reinstated to species status. Temnora pylades stevensoni Clark, 1926 syn. rev. & stat. nov. is reinstated as a valid subspecies of Temnora pylades Rothschild & Jordan, 1903 and Temnora pylades tanganyikae Clark, 1928 syn. nov. synonymized with it."
