"The status of Antheraea (Antheraea) knyvetti Hampson, 1893 was somehow unclear in literature of the last ca. 100 years. Now a part of the syntype series (ex coll. Elwes) of the “forgotten” taxon A. knyvetti was located in Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh, USA. A male lectotype of A. knyvetti (in Carnegie Museum) is designated to stabilise nomenclature. A. knyvetti Hampson, 1893 is a senior subjective synonym of Antheraea (Antheraea) rubicunda Brechlin, 2009, syn. n., and as well of A. (A.) rubicunda rubiorientalis Brechlin, 2009, syn. n., and takes priority over these names."
