HOLOTYPE ♂ Tanganyika [Tanzania]: Kilimandscharo [Kilimanjaro], Moschi [Moshi] (Mauck) (ex MNHU, B. Preston Clark exchange) [CMNH]. Carcasson, 1968, Jl E. Afr. nat. Hist. Soc. natn. Mus. 26 (3): 24, incorrectly gave the type locality in the species header as "Mt. Meru, Tanganyika, ♂" and the depository information as “BM : Amani, Mt. Meru (Type)”. These may be the data of the "neallotype" female in the NHMUK, but if so, then Carcasson made a further error because the actual data on the labels attached to this specimen are: “57.30\ Meru. Dist.\ Mt. Kenya.\ Sept. 1939\ Mrs H. Young”. This specimen also bears a handwritten label stating, “Ent. Mitt. XII: 1, pp. 54, 56, fig. 1 (1923) (Moschi, Kilimanjaro) ♂” (which is a reference to the original description, not a data label, but which Carcasson may have mistaken it to be), and is ex coll. Joicey.
