Morphology:
Forewing with outer margin slightly convex, nearly straight to vein M3. Head and thorax uppersides uniform blackish grey, without stripes.Metanotum with a golden-yellow spot on each side. Abdomen underside less white than in Sphinx arthuri. Hindwing with fringe white, distinctly spotted with brown. Ostial plate similar to that of Lintneria separatus, but more rounded distally, the cavity also more rounded, the cone carrying the ostium high, obliquely truncate, the ventral margin projecting.
