Akbesia davidi
Diagnostic description:
Wing pattern most similar to Batocnema species, notably in the olive-green markings and yellow ground colour of the hindwing. However, Akbesia davidi is distinctive in having a complete forewing upperside subbasal band with a diagnostic white outer edge, and the forewing has a pointed apex and weakly convex outer margin (truncate and concave respectively in both Batocnema species). The wing pattern and colour are not particularly variable.
Male genitalia: Valve lacking stridulatory scales. Harpe a small, subbasal, broadly triangular plate with an oblique vertical carina. Phallus without any special armature, but with apical edge produced on one side.
Female genitalia: Sterigma weakly sclerotized; distal margin rounded; no special armature.
