Antinephele bouyeri differs from Antinephele achlora in the following features:
1. Its average size is slightly less (the wingspan of A. achlora is usually more than 45 mm) [although no comparable value was provided for Antinephele bouyeri or a range for either species].
2. The postdiscal lines on the forewing upperside, which are thinner and make the basal and postdiscal bands less heavy, giving the background of the wing a more even appearance.
3. The two small white spots near to the postdiscal band are more reduced and clearly elongate.
4. The ground colour on average is darker, a rather dark chocolate brown (on average, A. achlora is paler).
