The larvae hatched on May 14th, 2018 and were reared by the authors and their daughter Y. L. Tapper using Ligustrum ovalifolium Hassk. (Oleaceae) as substitute foodplant. The first adults hatched on July 31st, 2018. A considerable high percentage of male and female adults show exceptional aberrations of the wing ocelli. The forewing ocelli were occasionally completely reduced at the male and female adults. Some extremes in aberrations are illustrated and described in this further contribution to knowledge the wild silkmoths (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae). The cause of the large number of more or less similar aberrations during this breeding remains unknown. All illustrated specimens are preserved in the Research Collection of Ulrich & Laela H. Paukstadt (Wilhelmshaven, Germany)."
