Paukstadt & L.H. Paukstadt (2021). When reviewing around 400 published works on the family Brahmaeidae, older drafts of manuscripts, notes, photo documentation and comparisons of the scientific names known so far with information in the BOLD TaxonID Tree made available by Eric van Schayck, we found that some genetic groupings in the BOLD TaxonID Tree could not be assigned to any so known taxon / name. Taxa in some groups of the tree were considered to be still undescribed. Consequently, another three taxa of the subgenus Shinocksiceras BOUYER, 2002 of the afrotropic genus Dactyloceras MELL in Hering in Seitz, 1927 (Lepidoptera: Brahmaeidae) are described in order to make the names available: Dactyloceras (S.) uluguruensis sp. nov. from Tanzania, Morogoro Region, D. (S.) njombensis sp. nov. from Tanzania, Njombe Region and D. (S.) njombensis mahengensis subsp. nov. from Tanzania, Morogoro Region. They are very closely related taxa within the neumayeri-group (sensu Paukstadt & Paukstadt 2021). The new species are grouped genetically in the BOLD TaxonID Tree, but can be more clearly differentiated by their male genitalia morphology. The males in the neumayeri-group are similar in their color and pattern morphologies and are obviously variable. As noted in the previous work, see Paukstadt & van Schayck (2021) and in the series “Brahmaeidae of the World”, see Paukstadt & Paukstadt (2021), we consider a number of new descriptions of afrotropic taxa of the subgenus Shinocksiceras by Bouyer (2002, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2012) are qualitatively insufficient to be able to identify and compare the taxa presented therein. The recommendations of the ICZN (1999) were also not taken into account, rather almost all of the type material was later sold to the CSNB / coll. Naumann (Berlin), see Weritz, Riekert & Naumann (2016). So nothing has changed in the original situation, which Naumann in Kühne (2008) rightly noted negatively, except that the aforementioned type material had passed from one private to another private collection. A generic revision should clarify whether the descriptions carried out by Bouyer were actually carried out in accordance with the articles of the ICZN (1999). If this was not the case, the corresponding names must be rated as nomina nuda. Recently, new descriptions of taxa of the genus Dactyloceras have been difficult for the reasons mentioned. The collective group name neumayeri-group (sensu Paukstadt & Paukstadt 2021) is used here for the time being because of its taxonomic expediency."
