I played recordings of bat echolocation to live X. praedicta and found that males respond with such dense ultrasound they can likely jam bat sonar. Female &lt;em&gt;X. praedicta&lt;/em&gt; and two other sphingid species do not produce ultrasonic responses.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
