West New Guinea is part of the Republic of Indonesia. From 2022 West New Guinea is divided into six provinces. Those are Papua (Papua Province) including the Islands of Japen, Biak and Numfoor, Papua Pegunungan (Papua Highland Province), Papua Selatan (South Papua Province), Papua Tengah (Central Papua Province), Papua Barat (West Papua Province), and Papua Barat Daya (Southwest Papua Province) including the Islands of Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati, Kofiau, and Misool (Raja Ampat Archipelago). The new administrative divisions and appropriate capital cities are shown in a map.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
