The complex is shown to comprise ten species, five of which have been previously overlooked. The subspecies &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes porcus continentalis&lt;/em&gt; Rothschild and Jordan, 1903, is raised to species status as &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes continentalis&lt;/em&gt; &lt;strong&gt;stat. nov.&lt;/strong&gt; The following five new species are described: &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes laguerrei &lt;/em&gt;Haxaire &amp;amp; Melichar &lt;strong&gt;sp. n.&lt;/strong&gt; from Argentina; &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes felisi&lt;/em&gt; Haxaire &amp;amp; Melichar &lt;strong&gt;sp. n.&lt;/strong&gt; from French Guiana; &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes corpus&lt;/em&gt; Haxaire &amp;amp; Melichar &lt;strong&gt;sp. n.&lt;/strong&gt; from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia; &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes similis&lt;/em&gt; Haxaire &amp;amp; Melichar &lt;strong&gt;sp. n.&lt;/strong&gt; from Costa Rica, and &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes nogueirai&lt;/em&gt; Haxaire &amp;amp; Melichar &lt;strong&gt;sp. n.&lt;/strong&gt; from Mexico. All species in the group are illustrated, as well as male genitalia.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
