This study adopted an integrative approach, drawing on literature, the SiBBr, GBIF, and SpeciesLink databases, and field collections to examine the distribution of &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha &lt;/em&gt;H&amp;uuml;bner, 1807 species across Brazil. A total of thirteen species is known to occur in the country, yet substantial knowledge gaps remain regarding their actual distribution. We compiled 623 occurrence records representing 14 species. Most species and occurrence records were concentrated in the Atlantic Forest and Amazon biomes. The results indicate that research directly focused on Eumorpha remains scarce and that, despite advances in the digitization of national collections, the number of related publications has not increased. This study provided important insights into the distribution of &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha&lt;/em&gt;, showing that some species, such as &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha vitis&lt;/em&gt; (Linnaeus) and &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha fasciatus&lt;/em&gt; (Sulzer), have a wide distribution, while others, like &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha translineatus&lt;/em&gt; (Rothschild), appear more restricted. In addition to contributing to the understanding of &lt;em&gt;Eumorpha &lt;/em&gt;distribution in Brazil, the study also highlights the relevance of combining multiple data sources to address existing knowledge gaps.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

Few lists of Lepidoptera exist for the Northeast of Brazil, a poorly inventoried geographical area. This work had as main objective to accomplish a preliminary study of the moths collected with attractive light at the Parque Nacional Serra de Itabaina, Sergipe, Brazil, verifying the taxonomic diversity and abundance in the study area and analyzing some ecological aspects of the group. A total of 1,450 samples was collected, of which 447 were identified in 19 families. The remaining of the material consisted of 794 microlepidopterous and another 209 not identified specimens. The richness and abundance of lepidopterous did not vary significantly among the dry and rainy seasons (p&amp;gt; 0.05). However, the composition analysis (NMDS) separated the species in two distinct assemblages, but the similarity analysis indicated that this arrangement does not differ significantly (ANOSIM; p = 0.09; R = 0.22), indicating that the nocturnal lepidopterofauna of Serra de Itabaiana stays constant along the year. The time which has a larger number of collected lepidopterous, was from 18:00 to 21:00h. This is a preliminary study, but that serves as reference for other studies with Lepidoptera in Sergipe.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

In flowers with nocturnal anthesis long-tubed flowers may attract long-tongued insects such as hawkmoths. However, flowers with more open morphology have nectar that can be more easily accessed by bats and short-tongued moths. These contrasting conditions may have consequences on nectar characteristics, since bats can mediate the selection of copious nectar with low to medium sugar concentration values, contrary to what occurs in hawkmoth-pollinated flowers that show comparatively lower nectar volumes with medium sugar concentrations. Here we describe an overview of the nectar features, secretion patterns and removal effects in a guild of plants with&amp;nbsp; crepuscular-nocturnal anthesis in the Atlantic Forest, Northeastern Brazil. Such a plant set encompassed both species with restricted and easy access to nectar, i.e., long-tube flowers and brush-type flowers, respectively. We found a marked difference between attributes of nectar between both groups. Long-tube flowers offer nectar of higher sugar concentration at specific periods of the night that can be reabsorbed later if it has not been removed, the brush-type flowers provide nectar of low sugar concentrations, throughout the night, and may increase their production in response to consumption. These differences can play an important role in mechanisms related to the sharing of resources in the community, ensuring an even more intimate relationship between long-tube flowers and hawkmoths, and allowing brush-type flowers to deal with consumption by different nocturnal pollinators.&lt;/p&gt;

However, studies were carried out in other states of the northeastern region with species inventories in the Atlantic Forest, Caatinga and Cerrado. In order to broaden the knowledge on of the richness and diversity of hawkmoths in the Atlantic Forest of the state of Bahia, six monthly sampling sessions were carried out in the State Ecological Station of Wenceslau Guimar&amp;atilde;es. Hawkmoths were captured using a 250-watt mercury-vapor light trap set against a white cloth panel, for two nights a month, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A total of 266 specimens were collected, distributed across 17 genera and 41 species. The most abundant and dominant species were &lt;em&gt;Isognathus swainsoni&lt;/em&gt; C. Felder, 1862, with a relative abundance of 12.41%, and &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes amadis &lt;/em&gt;(Cramer, 1782) and &lt;em&gt;Xylophanes anubus&lt;/em&gt; (Cramer, 1777), both with 7.9%. Our study represents the second inventory of hawkmoths for the state, totaling 59 species known for the Atlantic Forest of Bahia. &lt;em&gt;Isognathus excelsior&lt;/em&gt; (Boisduval, [1875]) and &lt;em&gt;Manduca lucetius &lt;/em&gt;(Cramer, 1780) represented new records for the biome. The accumulated number of species indicates the need for further sampling in order to safely reach the curve asymptote.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;

The hawkmoth &lt;em&gt;Adhemarius eurysthenes&lt;/em&gt; (Sphingidae, Smerinthinae, Ambulycini) is endemic to the southern portion of this biome, with most of its existing populations within Brazil. Using CAD, wingless, and the barcode region of the mitochondrial COI gene, populations of &lt;em&gt;A. eurysthenes&lt;/em&gt; were analyzed phylogeographically to obtain information on their genetic structure and variability, and to explain their spatial distribution. We obtained 14 COI haplotypes of 109 individuals from 10 localities. The population in the state of Esp&amp;iacute;rito Santo, southeastern Brazil, showed the highest average genetic distance in relation to other populations. A test of molecular variance using the spatial component (SAMOVA) separated the samples into two groups; again, Esp&amp;iacute;rito Santo was the divergent site. We found no significant correlation between genetic and geographic distances, but did find a tendency toward genetic isolation near the northern limit of the range of&lt;em&gt; A. eurysthenes&lt;/em&gt;. We discuss the implementation of the observed patterns for other taxa, in an attempt to support studies on the conservation of Ambulycini in the Atlantic Rain Forest. Esp&amp;iacute;rito Santo proved to be a locality of particular importance for conservation of the endemic Ambulycini in this biome.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
