Xylophanes clarki
Similar to Xylophanes tersa tersa but immediately distinguishable by the scalloped second to fourth postmedian lines on the forewing upperside. Similar to Xylophanes tersa tersa but: first postmedian band double, inner element either a discrete line running to the costa but angled sharply (about 45┬░) at M1 to reach the costa almost perpendicularly, or a broader, more blurred band with a slight costal angle; second to fourth postmedian lines strongly scalloped; fifth postmedian line relatively broad from apex to M3, then becoming very weak and diffuse. Median band of hindwing upperside consisting of a series of small, yellow spots, somewhat suffused with orange (similar to those of Xylophanes ferotinus, not pale yellow as in most Xylophanes tersa tersa). 30 mm
