SYNTYPES 3♂ Uganda [NHMUK]. A male has been labelled as manuscript lectotype in NHMUK (M.R. Honey, pers. comm.).
Taxonomic Notes:
Proposed as a subspecies of Praedora marshalli. Carcasson, 1968, Jl E. Afr. nat. Hist. Soc. natn. Mus. 26 (3): 65, considered Praedora marshalli tropicalis to be merely the northern end of a cline. Synonymized with the nominotypical subspecies of Praedora marshalli by Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 63. Raised to species status by Pierre & Schmit, 2008, Bull. Soc. ent. Fr. 113: 253.
