TYPE(S) ♂ Madagascar: Antanambé, Baie d'Antongil, iii-iv.1897 («A.» Mocquerys) [NHMUK]. There may have been a misprint in the original description and there were in fact only two specimens in the Tring Museum, not three. If so, then the above specimen is a holotype. However, given the uncertainty, the single male in the NHMUK from Antanambé should be designated as lectotype.
