| Abstract: | "This paper is part of the effort to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the Greek Noctuoidea and Bombycoidea. Based on the extensive material collected over several years by H.-J. Piatkowski, Hanau, it presents first proofs for the existence of several new species of Greek lepidoptera. Additionally, some arguments against the systematic positioning of gorgoniades pfeifferi Zerny, 1933 as a subspecies by Danner et al. (1998) are given. Sphingonaepiopsis gorgoniades pfeifferi (Zerny, 1933) comb. rev. is replaced to genus Sphingonaepiopsis Wallengreen [sic], 1858, as Pterodonta Austaut, 1905 is a junior homonym of Pterodonta R. L., 1817 (Noctuidae) and therefore not applicable (see also Fletcher & Nye, 1982: 138)." |
