Nässig & Nye (1991) (STI 22431) stated that "An investigation in 1988 by Miss P. Gilbert in the library of The Natural History Museum, London, revealed that Hampson's book was not received by the library [of the British Museum] before 5 April 1893, and 1893 may be taken as the year of publication." Thus the year of publication is currently cited here as "1893 [1892]". However, two book reviews were published by "W.F.K." (1893) (STI 22342) and Snellen (1893) (STI 22343) in February 1893 (the former specifically dated as 23rd February) that suggest that Hampson's book was available before the British Museum copy was accessioned in April of that year and thus that 1892 may, in fact, be the correct year of publication of this work and the new taxa described therein. This has yet to be explicitly determined.
