| Abstract: | "After the appearing of the contribution about three neotropic species of hawkmoth caterpillars difficult to define (Dvořák 2016) in the June edition of Entomologische Zeitschrift, some new information on the presented animals could be acquired; whereas the caterpillars from Mexico could be associated to the rarely found species Sphinx leucopheata Clemens, 1859 and the animals found in Ecuadorian high mountains could eventually belong to a species of Euryglottis Boisduval, 1875 (Kitching 2016), the unusually colourful specimens from the Ecuadorian and Peruvian lowland forest still remain a puzzle. Nevertheless, a lucky coincidence enabled me to exactly define the food-plant of this species in the meantime." |
