Abstract:

"A new species of the genus Polyptychus Hübner, 1819 is described from East Africa under the name Polyptychus fractus sp. n. In addition, the taxon Polyptychus ferroseus stat. rev. is accepted as valid. Polyptychus baxteri jansei Clark, 1936 is elevated to a distinct species bearing the name Polyptychus jansei stat. nov. The establishment of the new species is based upon comparisons with Polyptychus aurora Clark, 1936 and Polyptychus baxteri Rothschild & Jordan, 1908."
