Abstract:

"A new species of the genus Actias, species-group of A. maenas, is described from S. India: Actias keralana sp. n. (holotype male in coll. Senckenberg-Museum, Frankfurt am Main, Germany). Male and female moths are illustrated in colour, as well as the male genitalia. It is known so far from the Indian Western Ghats in the States of Kerala and Karnataka. It differs from its relatives in habitus, male genitalia morphology and mtDNA COI barcode (Bold’s BIN: ACC1562)."
