Abstract:

"The male and female genitalic features of five species of genus Acosmeryx Boisduval viz., anceus Stoll (type species), naga (Moore), socrates Boisduval, omissa Rothschild and Jordan and shervilli Boisduval have been studied and illustrated in detail. The genus diagnosis has been updated and a key to the studied species has been formulated."

STI taxonomic comments: 
The records of Acosmeryx shervillii and Acosmeryx socrates from peninsular India are misidentifications of Acosmeryx akanshi. Although noted as a first record for Karnataka (Jog Falls) and supported by three individuals captured on three separate dates, the identification or labelling of the Acosmeryx naga specimens must nevertheless be questioned given the massive range extension that it represents.
