| Abstract: | "The caterpillars of Xanthopan recently photographed in Madagascar show several differences from those previously documented found on the African mainland. These add up to some of the detailed characteristics of the Malagasy imagines that were briefly mentioned in the earlier literature — and thus prove the partly already suspected autonomy of the Malagasy population of this species complex. The observed differences in the development stages are compared with a sketch." |
