Abstract:

"The taxonomy, synonymy and current distribution of Eupanacra malayana (Rothschild & Jordan, 1903) is revisited and morphological criteria to separate this species from related species in the genus are reviewed and described. It is proposed to restrict Eupanacra malayana to those populations occurring on Java and the Lesser Sunda Islands. On the island of Sumatra, and on the Asian continent, E. malayana is replaced by a previously unrecognized species, which is here described as Eupanacra laplume n. sp., with two subspecies, the nominotypical subspecies on the mainland and subspecies diehli n. ssp. on Sumatra."
