| Abstract: | "The ♂ genitalia structures of Coscinocera arafuraensis PAUKSTADT & PAUKSTADT in Paukstadt, Paukstadt & van Schayck, 2022 and C. jayapurana BRECHLIN, 2023 (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) are subsequently described and figured for the first time being. Dissections of the type material were not available for the corresponding new descriptions. Unfortunately, the genitalia of the ♂ allotype of C. arafuraensis in coll. Museum Zoologicum Bogoriense / MZB, Indonesia has been not yet available for dissection. Therefore a specimen of the junior author’s collection with identical genetically grouping (at BOLD) has been dissected instead. A ♂ paratype of C. jayapurana from the Papua Province, Indonesia was examined morphologically. The ♂ genitalia structures are compared to those of other taxa in this genus. C. jayapurana and cendrawasihensis PAUKSTADT & PAUKSTADT in Paukstadt, Paukstadt & van Schayck, 2022 show almost similar genitalia structures. Unfortunately, DNA barcoding (at BOLD) of C. jayapurana is not yet publicly available. The taxonomic status of C. jayapurana needs investigation. No taxonomic changes are made in this additional contribution to knowledge the genus Coscinocera BUTLER, 1879.
