Abstract:

"The authors describe two new species of Sphingidae of the genus Xylophanes from the Andes Mountain range. Xylophanes melichari Haxaire from Peru and Xylophanes herbini Haxaire & Melichar from Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. They are compared to the related species Xylophanes rhodotus Rothschild, 1904 and Xylophanes resta Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, respectively."
