| Abstract: | "The genus Dreata Walker, 1855 (Lepidoptera, Eupterotidae, Eupterotinae) is redescribed and revised; taxa formerly placed erroneously in the genus are listed. For its so far monotypic type species, Dreata hades Walker, 1855, we designate a ♂ neotype from India, Meghalaya, Cherrapunji from the collections of the NHMUK London, Great Britain. Four further species are described as new to science: Dreata loeffleri Naumann, Giusti, & Nässig sp. n. from Myanmar, Chin State; Dreata campestris Naumann, Giusti, & Nässig sp. n. from Myanmar, Magway State; Dreata sagaingensis Naumann, Giusti, & Nässig, sp. n. from Myanmar, Sagaing State; and finally Dreata intensa Naumann, Giusti, & Nässig sp. n. from Thailand, Chiang Mai Province. All holotype ♂♂ from the senior author’s collection will be deposited in MfNB Berlin, Germany. All known taxa occur in medium-high elevations in Southern Asia. Preimaginal instars, life history, ecology etc. are yet unknown for all species." |
