Abstract:

From March, 2015, I reared larvae, which I supposed Macroglossum pyrrhosticta Butler, collected from Paederia scandens (Lour.) Merrill. In those, I found Macrogiossum corythus (Walker) and other larvae which were determined after emergence as Macroglossum sitiene (Walker). This is the first record in Okinawa-jima. The collecting site is Itoman city, in the south area of Okinawa-jima Is. I have got a total of 20 eggs and larvae in that place from June to September while any of them have not been seen in the middle area. The eggs are pale-green in color. The dorsal horn of the larva is rather long and not black.
