Eumorpha triangulum (Taxonomy)
Transferred to Eumorpha by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 119.
Most similar to Eumorpha anchemolus but forewing upperside pattern more contrasting and variegated and subapical costal patch extending posterior of Rs4 and gradually narrowing into the submarginal line. Forewing more elongate than Eumorpha satellitia satellita, the outer margin being longer and the posterior margin shorter. Abdomen tergites each with a medial pale patch that tapers from the posterior edge to the anterior to form a serrate band. Hindwing upperside prominent discal spot in a generally greenish buff basal area. Easily distinguished from Eumorpha anchemolus by the hindbasitarsus not being broadly scaled. Similar to Eumorpha anchemolus but:uncus rounded-truncate, not acuminate;valve without a patch of bristles on the inner face, dorsal margin concave;harpe a short, tooth-like hook, which itself has a ventral tooth;aedeagus very slender, apical process acute, about four times as long as aedeagus is broad.
