Transferred to Eupanacra by Cadiou & Holloway, 1989, Lambillionea89: 139. Erroneously returned to Panacra by Bridges, 1993, Cat. Fam. Gen. Spec. Sphingidae of the World: VIII.18. Transferred back to Eupanacra by Inoue et al., [1996], Moths of Thailand2: 74.
Very similar to Eupanacra malayana but easily distinguishable by the forewing outer margin having a single sharp point at the apex of M2 and no darker brown longitudinal shadow present between M1 and M3. Forewing upperside with postmedian lines closer together and more longitudinal than in Eupanacra malayana, almost parallel to costa, stopping posterior to Rs4, not curving continuously towards costa as in Eupanacra regularis regularis, the first running towards apex; a white angular mark posterior to Rs3 preceded costally by a brown area that is longer and less distinct than its equivalent in Eupanacra malayana; angle between the white mark and Rs4 blackish; the white angular mark in rs3-rs4 more proximal than in Eupanacra malayana. Forewing underside with a distinct submarginal white spot posterior to Rs4. Uncus subcarinate dorsally, compressed, apex sinuate. Gnathos similar to Eupanacra regularis regularis, more tapered than in Eupanacra malayana. Valve with 4 large stridulatory scales. Harpe similar to Eupanacra malayana, but shorter, a little broader and more curved. Aedeagus apical process with left lobe similar to that in Eupanacra malayana; the right lobe also similar, but densely dentate apically, the teeth long, pointed, and generally carrying smaller teeth.
