Pseudoangonyx excellens (Taxonomy)
General description:
Transferred to Angonyx by Rothschild, 1919, Novit. Zool. 26: 228. Transferred to Pseudoangonyx by Eitschberger, 2010, Neue ent. Nachr. 64: 135 (as ‡execellens).
Morphology:
Immediately distinguishable from species of Angonyx by the forewing upperside having a pale grey apical patch within which is a dark-green trapezoidal patch and a narrow sinusoidal pale grey median band running from the discal spot to the inner margin. Hindwing upperside yellow; marginal band blackish-brown, lighter anteriorly.
Gnathos extremely short. Harpe upcurved, apex rounded or slightly spatulate. Aedeagus apex lacking extended toothed processes found in species of Angonyx.
