Falcatula cymatodes (Taxonomy)

Forewing very falcate with a slightly crenulated outer margin and a sharply angled tornus; evenly concave between apex and tornus, except for a slightly deeper emargination between CuA1 and CuA2. Forewing and hindwing upperside ground colour similar. Forewing upperside ground colour olive-grey with indistinct narrow wavy transverse lines, a very small dark discal spot and a very prominent basal spot. Hindwing upperside with diffuse and indistinct postmedian and submarginal bands that are most obvious near the strongly angled tornus. 28-32 mm; wingspan: 67-76 mm. Forewing costa more strongly curved near apex than in the male. Forewing upperside ground colour darker than in he male with stronger transverse lines. 34-38 mm. Uncus very elongate, shaped like a bird's beak. Valve long, narrow, bilobed, with well-sclerotized upper lobe fused with lower lobe; apex slightly incurved apically. Harpe absent. Aedeagus unarmed but ending in a sharp point. Anterior apophyses very short and curved.Sterigma comprising a well-sclerotized V-shaped plate anterior to the ostium bursae and bearing two evenly curved lobes that converge towards the ostium bursae.Ductus bursae short and membranous.Corpus bursae small and membranous.
