Falcatula cymatodes lemairei (Taxonomy)
Synonymized with the nominotypical subspecies by Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 46. Implicitly reinstated as a subspecies by Pierre, 2001, Bull Soc. ent. Fr.106: 264.
Similar to Falcatula cymatodes cymatodes but:Smaller, with a more elongate but shorter thorax and abdomen.Forewing apex less falcate, more rounded.Hindwing outer margin less concave between CuA2 and 1A. Forewing upperside similar to Falcatula cymatodes cymatodes but ground colour brownish-olive (rather than olive grey) and pattern of transverse lines more conspicuous. Hindwing underside with a more conspicuous series of submarginal vein dots than in Falcatula cymatodes cymatodes. Wingspan: 64-71 mm. Very similar to Falcatula cymatodes cymatodes but:Uncus more massive, shorter. Valves more massive, appreciably widened in the distal third and strongly incurved apically.
