Diagnostic description:
Both Danner et al. and Kitching & Cadiou expressed reservations as to the subspecific value of the differences in male genital structure between Hemaris ducalis ducalis and Hemaris ducalis lukhtanovi.
Morphology:
Differs from Hemaris ducalis ducalis only in features of the male genitalia. Very similar to Hemaris ducalis ducalis but:Uncus neither as narrow nor as sharply bent basally.Saccus slimmer and more elongate.Right harpe almost equally broad along its entire length, not apically dilated and clubbed.
