General description:
Synonymized with Hemaris affinis by Danner, Eitschberger & Surholt, 1998, Herbipoliana4 (1): 136. Raised to species status by Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 47.
Morphology:
Very similar to Hemaris staudingeri but distinguishable by the pale lateral stripes on the upperside of the thorax. Upperside of thorax with pale lateral stripes. Hindtibia yellowish grey except tip.
