Hippotion balsaminae
Forewings and hindwings narrow, sharply pointed apically. Forewing upperside similar to Hippotion eson and Hippotion boerhaviae but ground colour very pale sandy-brown rather than orange-brown; discal spot a small black dot with no darker shade distal to it; first and second postmedial lines forming a band; fifth postmedial line generally accentuated by vein dots. Hindwing upperside with basal half blackish, medial band buff, and with a narrow, sharply-defined brown marginal band.
Male genitalia: uncus sharply sinuate, with acute lobes; gnathos gradually narrowed, ending in an acute hook; harpe horizontal, slightly sigmoid, quite stout, dilated apically, where it is somewhat concave dorsally; phallus apical process with one or two teeth on the left and a curved row of teeth on the right side.
