Hippotion commatum
Diagnostic description:
Abdomen upperside similar to Hippotion velox but the paired oblique subdorsal silvery dashes replaced by elongate greyish-white spots that are parallel to the dorsal line. Forewing upperside similar to Hippotion velox but oblique narrow pale band not crenulated between Rs4 and CuA2 and Rs4 and M1 conspicuously highlighted in white along their entire lengths. FWL: 37-38 mm.
Male genitalia: Very similar to Hippotion velox but: gnathos less pointed; harpe shorter, triangular; phallus apically with four teeth on one side and one on the other.
