Hippotion pentagramma
Very similar to Hippotion roseipennis but immediately distinguishable by the fully developed complement of five postmedial lines on the forewing upperside, which are visible in even the palest specimens. FWL: 22-24 mm.
Male genitalia: uncus with a sharply downcurved apical tooth; gnathos short and broad, apex heavily sclerotized, very wide and minutely dentate; valve with a single very large stridulatory scale; harpe irregularly sinuate, short, smooth, with apex upcurved; phallus apical process with a single large apical spine directed downward on the left and a very small tooth on the right; vesica unarmed.
Female genitalia: antrum very deeply incurved at the ostium bursae; ductus bursae long with a sac-like flap near base; corpus bursae elongate, pitted and pleated; signum long and rather wide, its serrated edges narrow leaving a wide median smooth plate.
