Hippotion rebeli
Diagnostic description:
Very similar to Hippotion roseipennis, and an equally variable species in forewing colour and pattern, but larger and generally more reddish on both surfaces and more heavily marked. FWL: 25-28 mm. Hindwing upperside similar to Hippotion roseipennis but usually distinguishable, in all but the darkest specimens, by the pinkish-orange (not brownish-black) basal area.
Male genitalia: Similar to Hippotion pentagramma and Hippotion roseipennis but: harpe shorter, more sharply upcurved; phallus apical process with a long, curved apical spine.
