General description:
Proposed as a subspecies of Hippotion rosae.
Morphology:
Very similar to Hippotion rosae rosae but smaller, broader winged and with less acute forewing apex and tornus. Antennae with pink dorsal scaling paler than in Hippotion rosae rosae. Forewing upperside as Hippotion rosae rosae but greyer and lacking any buff tone, and with all marking more faintly indicated. 29 mm. 34 mm. Identical to Hippotion rosae rosae. Identical to Hippotion rosae rosae.
