Hippotion talboti
Diagnostic description:
Distinguishable from all other species of Hippotion by the greenish-brown ground colour of the forewing upperside together with the red and black hindwing upperside. Forewing upperside ground colour khaki with a slight greenish tone (which fades with age); discal spot black, small but conspicuous, just distal to which is a diffuse darker brown patch; only first and fourth postmedial bands well developed, dark brown, with darker vein dots on most veins. Hindwing upperside similar to Hippotion eson but black basal area more extensive; postmedial band deep pinkish-orange. FWL: 29 mm.
