Laothoe austauti
Diagnostic description:
Although the colour forms of Laothoe populi populi are also present in Laothoe austauti, the latter is larger and generally paler. A dark brown form (f. brunnea Huard) is quite common.
Male antenna more triangular in cross-section and compressed than in Laothoe populi populi.
Male genitalia: Uncus broader than in Laothoe populi populi. Harpe with apical lobes more triangular than in Laothoe populi populi.
