Daphnis moorei (Taxonomy)
General description:
Synonymized with Daphnis hypothous by Moulds, 1996, in Nielsen, Edwards & Rangsi (eds), Monographs on Australian Lepidoptera4: 268. Raised to subspecies status by Moulds & Lachlan, 1998, Aust. Ent.25: 49.
Morphology:
Forewing upperside similar to Daphnis hypothous but the area between CuA1 and CuA2 distal to the green median area nearly as dark as the median area itself; white lines posterior to CuA2 lacking. Very similar to Daphnis hypothous but left lobe of aedeagus apical process shorter, not reaching base of right lobe.
