Transferred to Gehlenia by Inoue, 1973, Bull. Fac. domest. Sci. Otsuma Wom. Univ. 9: 116. This move was overlooked by d'Abrera, 1987, Sphingidae Mundi: 128, who implicitly returned obliquifascia to Ampelophaga. Transferred back to Gehlenia by Haxaire, 1994, Lambillionea 94: 36, but referred back to Ampelophaga by Zhu & Wang, 1997, Fauna Sinica Insecta 11: 294 (key), 295. Implicitly returned to Gehlenia by Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 46. Transferred to Lepchina by Brechlin, 2000, Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo (N.F.) 21: 144.
