Leptoclanis pulchra
While the male genitalia resemble those of Leucophlebia afra, the pattern and colour of the wings are distinctive. Male: Forewing upperside ground colour creamy green with dark green markings. Hindwing upperside rosy red, bordered with green. FWL: 30-35 mm Female: darker than male and with wings broader and more rounded. FWL: 40 mm.
Male genitalia: Uncus broad, apex downturned, sub-truncate. Gnathos broad, long, deeply excavated, almost bifurcate. Valve triangular with dorso-basal process edged with tubercles. Harpe a subventral longitudinal ridge, produced into a basal and an apical process. Phallus lacking armature.
Female genitalia: Tergum A8 with deep median sinus. Ductus bursae long, membranous, with numerous small tubercles near ostium bursae. Bursa copulatrix with signum pear-shaped and spinose.
There is a specimen in NHMUK from "Transvaal" but this is insufficiently precise to map.
