Maassenia heydeni
Diagnostic description:
Forewing outer margin slightly crenulated. Forewing upperside ground colour brown, with paler beige areas; antemedial band and spots along costa paler; basal band dark brown, curved, not reaching inner margin; a dark brown diffuse line from near middle of costa to tornus; discal spot comprising a two- to three-pointed silver spot with arms directed distally and a smaller rounded silver dot basally, sometimes absent. Forewing underside brown with a conspicuous orange postmedial band and a darker marginal band. Wingspan: 50-80 mm.
Male genitalia: Apex of phallus produced as a short triangular process.
