SYNTYPES “Asie centrale” [CMNH; NHMUK]. There is a possible female syntype in CMNH from “Silhet” and a female in NHMUK from “N. Ind.”
Taxonomic Notes:
Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 632, considered it most likely that this species and M. avicula were only subspecies of the same species.
