TYPE(S) Taïti [Tahiti]: «Matavai, 22.v.1823» [CMNH]. Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 649, stated that there was a male and a female in coll. Oberthür (both found in CMNH; x.1992) and a male in MNHN; the former may represent the syntypic series as the possible males in MNHN are both captured too late to be types (IJK, 3.iii.2009).
