HOLOTYPE ♂ New Guinea [Papua New Guinea]: Morobe District, Mt Misim, 7000', 2.ii.1933 (H. Stevens) [CMNH].
The holotype in CMNH bears the date "21 Jan. 1933", while the paratype in MCZH bears the correct date of "2 Feb. 1933", as given in the original description. However, given that Clark frequently misquoted label data in his descriptions, Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 136, considered that the CMNH specimen, not the MCZH specimen, is the holotype.
