Manduca armatipes (Rothschild & Jordan, 1916)

Very similar in colour and pattern to Manduca lichenea, but hindwing upperside more extensively grey, with a patch posterior to the discal cell extending to the more proximal of the median dark bands, this band thus being more prominent than in Manduca lichenea; forewing upperside with transverse lines more prominent, sharply dentate. Differs from Manduca undata, which is similarly coloured and has similar spines on the foretarsus, in lacking the 2 longitudinal black streaks on the forewing upperside discal area. Foretarsus with 1st segment 4 or 5 long spines on the outer side; 2nd with one apical spine.

Male genitalia: Similar to Manduca lichenea, but: uncus more slender, tapering more evenly; harpe with marginal teeth smaller.
